This cozy neighborhood bookstore was designed on a budget with a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Inside, a plasterboard shelving system was crafted to embrace and unify the existing structural elements, including the metal stair, columns, and beams. Its simple square geometry gives the store a clean, minimal aesthetic. Existing bookcases were painted white, while carefully chosen furnishings add to the homey feel: a wing armchair, a vintage rug, an old dining table stacked with books, and retro schoolbook covers displayed on a gallery wall behind the counter. Soft whites and pastel greens, contrasted with a blackboard wall, complete the aesthetic, complemented by a hand-drawn illustration defining the store’s identity.
